1.Basicallyprocratination is the act of putting off essential tasks until a later time. Andit usually results from great stress and anxiety.

Maybe everyone has experienced the following psychological changes

At firstwhen we receive a essential task a deadline is setmaybe there is one week until the assignment is handed in.Thenwe will own the false sence of security that we have a plenty of time.Butas time gose bywe will talk to ourselvesfor example”I will get started soon or I only work well under pressure.” At lastpanic and stress is really coming.Andat that timemaybe you will say:”Ohno!the assighment should be handed in tomorrow!” These are all the performance of procrastination.

2.why we suffer from procrastination?

There are 4 simple reasons as follows:

Firstlythe task seems too hard for us to do.secondlyour free time is unavailable until the weekendthirdlywe are lack of knowlegdes and skills.Besideswe don’t want to make a mistake until we’re sure it’s right.At lastthe fear everyone will know we made a mistake will also cause procrastination.

HoweverThere are also 3 complex reasons for procrastination that we can’t ignore. The first reason is perfectionism.The person who is a perfectionistmaybe think that if i can’t do it right. I don’t do it at all.The second reason is the hostility to assignments or leadersif we are hostile to our essential task.we will refuse to take our best efforts to finish the task out of spite.The last reason is low self-evaluationit will minimize our abilities.

3.What is negative effects of procrastination.

To my mindmissing deadline is the most serious consequence of procrastination.And the quality of our work may sufferespecially if it’s done at the last minite.At the same time it can add to our stress levels and affect our life outside work.such as letting ourselves down not achieving our full potential and so on.

4.By the way Do you know what percentage of people procrastinate?

It’s a surprising number.95%.Sowhat can we do to overcome procrastination. There are some helpful tips:

Write down our tasks in visible place with their due dates.

Make the tasks look easy in our mind.

Break the task in several parts.

Modify your environment to encourage accomplishing the task.

Tell your family or friends about your goal.They will motivate you along the way. Reward for yourself for a job well done.

Recently procrastination has been brought to public focus because of a song which gives a very proper description of it. Procrastination is an unnecessary behavior that would cause bad consequence which has been a significant subject in management and psychology.

As a matter of fact most of us have some symptoms of procrastination. However in my opinion we can get rid of it by following these suggestions.

First of all it’s essential to come to realize that procrastination is totally unnecessary. We can do many things on time on most occasions without any procrastination. Therefore we have to be determined to eliminate it as much as possible. Second we should try to find out the reasons why we procrastinate so that we can take actions to eliminate it step by step. Last but not least it is wise for us to get rid of other disturbances deliberately when we are working or studying such as QQ and mobile phone. If we can do that we will find that it will be easier to concentrate on our work or study.

In a word procrastination has bad impacts on our lives and we should eliminate it as much as possible.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

Today our topic is about procrastination.

Well what is procrastination? Generally speaking procrastination is an act of putting of an essential task until a later time. And there is no doubt that procrastination will do harm to our study and health.

Let’s see some behavior of a procrastinator. When the deadline is set he will think there is one week until the assignment is due. So he has the false sense of security. I have plenty of time. As time passes he will think that I will get started soon because I can only work under great pressure. And when the last day is coming he hurries to do his work panickily and under great pressure.

And the case of us is often that. Today I must write my paper so I haven’t to be online. Well I need to search some statistics so I must use computer. And the tragedy happens on us. An evening is killed by our entertainment.

And let’s see its four reasons. First perfectionism. Everything you want to do should be done at a high level. You want to succeed by one time and don’t want to repeat again. Second resistance and hostility. The teacher’s attitude towards me is so bad so I don’t want to do his homework. Third be easy to be decadence. The task is so difficult. Why other people needn’t do but I have to do? I can’t tolerate doing that. Maybe I will do it tomorrow. Last self-depreciation. My ability becomes lower and lower gradually as I usually can’t finish my tasks well.

Maybe everybody have procrastination to some degree. But how do to deal with it? Let’s see some measures.

First realize it's no need to procrastinate

And then take action right now.

If you want to finish your homework if you want to get a high score for TEM4 if you want to do reading if you want to keep fit or if you want to show your love to your relatives or a special person. Don’t procrastinate any more. What make you the most happy is be able to do what you want to do.
