Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

It’s my great honor to give a speech here.

My topic today is Learn to be a real teacher.

People often say: Teacher is the engineer of human spirit. But how to be a real teacher? The issue lingering in my mind for a long time.

I still remember the days three years ago I came to the present school . Hurrying into the classroom and starting my first class I was almost blind about the teaching materials and the students. What I had was only a heart full of love and enthusiasm.

In my mind I wanted to be friends with them and love them. However things were not as I expected. Students in my class just kept on talking and giggling ignoring my existence... I just can’t control my class! What should I do? For a whileeach time walking into the classroom I felt like I was approaching the hell. That experience was really a nightmare to me.

The second term I was assigned to teach two new classes of grade 7. I decided to build strict classroom rules so that I could have a stable teaching environment. Things went on smoothly as I expected they behaved well in my class homework was finished carefully test results were always among the best…

I was very satisfied. I had thought I knew how to be a good teacher until one day I was told by their Chinese teacher to read an article about me titled “Abrief smile”. It read “My English teacher is very beautiful but usually she is too strict we are all afraid of her until today I don't know when she smiles. She has two dimples...” I laughed but then reflected on myself I helped them gain outstanding grades but lost their love.

This term I took over two other classes of grade 9. I know it’s time to change. I insist a strict requirement with them at class yet I show my great care towards them after class. Recently a girl’s mother gave me a call she said it was the first time for her to see her daughter recite English text! Another parent said that his daughter began to be interested in English learning it is not only because of my teaching well but because she could tell that I care themand respect them. Hearing these I feel a flush of joy and pride.

I know now I’m on the right track. I walk more firmly and more confidently. As the saying goes “Happy is the man who is living by his hobby” I consider teaching as my hobby I’ll make great efforts to make both my students and myself enjoy the happy life.

I’m Qin Haichen from Class Two Grade Five. I’m very glad to make a speech here. Now I’ll tell a little story:

“Name is A Frog and a Tiger.”

Mr Tiger is the king of the forest. So he looks down upon everything in the world.

One day A tiger was hungry he was looking for food. Suddenly he found a frog in front of him. “Ha ha ! A frog! My dinner!” said excitedly Mr Tiger. So he rushed at the frog.

“Don’t move wait a minuteplease Mr Tiger. I’m stronger than you” said Mr Frog. “What? You are stronger than me? How dare you say that!” shouted angrily Mr Tiger . “ Let’s have a match .Who can jump over the river ? you first” said Mr Frog.

Mr Tiger jumped over the river. Mr Frog bit Tiger’s tail. So he jumped over too.

“where is Mr Frog? Haha I’m the winner!”

“Don’t be so sure” said Mr Frog with some fur in his mouth.

“What’s in your mouth Mr Frog?”

“Well yesterday I ate a tiger only left some fur.”

“My God! Help me!” Mr Tiger ran away.

Good afternoon honorable judges dear teachers & friends.

I'm Lai Senhan from the University of International Business & Economics. Do you know what date is it today? Today is the Olympic Date. I'm so glad to stand here today to share my idea about Beijing Olympic Games together with you all. The title of my speech is: what can we do for Beijing Olympic Games?

First of all let me tell you a story that happened 2 years ago. At the end of August 20XX when I decided to come to Beijing for study my friends hel* * **rewell Party for me. They said: after your graduation you should look for a job in Beijing and then in 20XX we shall go to visit you during the Olympic Games. I laughed and answered: OK no problem!

Time flied and 2 years passed. Now I am a graduate. My teachers and classmates always ask me: what's your plan after your graduation? Go back home stay in Beijing or go to some other places? And I always answer: I will stay in Beijing. I make this decision not because of my promise to my friends 2 years ago but because: I've fallen in love with Beijing! I'm eager to welcome the coming Olympic Games together with my fellow countrymen and I wish I could do something for the Olympics & for the city.

As we know Beijing will host the 29th Summer Olympic Games in 20XX. As a Chinese I think many people are thinking: what we can do for Beijing Olympic Games. Most of us are not athletes we cannot take part in competitions directly; we are not officials either we don't need to do the preparatory work. We are only ordinary people what we can do!

There are still so many things we can do! For example for me I am a graduate majoring Business English. As far as I am concerned I will keep on learning English hard and apply for being a volunteer. I will use English to serve the Games together with other volunteers. And also as a businessman at that time I will avail myself of the great commercial opportunities that the Olympics brings to us make more efforts to offer my contribution to the growth of our national economy.

And for all of us with the goal to host a "Green Olympics" we shall plant more trees grass & flowers. Don't waste water. In order to alleviate the problems of air pollution & traffic congestions we shall take buses & subways more.

With the goal to host a "People's Olympics" and in order to make our Olympics more attractive and to make our Beijing more beautiful we shall help everyone we meet who needs help we shall abide by traffic rules don't smoke in public and no spitting. The most important way for our Chinese to support our Beijing Olympic Games in my opinion is to work hard on our duties.
