介绍家乡的英语作文
My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.
But in the old days, it was a poor and backward little town. many people had no work. They lived a hard life.
In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.
My hometown is beautiful place It stands near a wide river at the foot of low green hills. It has many tall buildings and wide streets. There are trees and flowers everywhere.
But it has not always been like that. In the old days, it was a sad dirty little town. Landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses. For the working people there were only dark, unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets. Nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.
Everything has changed since liberation. The people, led by the Party, have got rid of the mud and dirt. They have put up schools, theaters, shops and flats. They have an assembly hall and a hospital. Along the river they have built offices, hotels and parks. A lot of factories have sprung up. On the river, streamers and boats come and go busily, day and night. They carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.
I love my hometown, and I love its people. They also have changed. Healthy and happy, they are going all out to build socialism.
It's very kind of you to write me and let me know about your beautiful city. Now I'd like to tell you something about my hometown Quanzhou.
The city stands on the west bank of the Taiwan Straight. It is a beautiful place for people to live in. Its economy has been developing rapidly in the past ten years. New factories, houses, roads and bridges have been built. More schools and hospitals are available for its people. However, there are still some problems, such as water, air and noise pollution and heavy traffic in rush hours. In my opinion, Quanzhou should develop its economy scientifically. I would also think that the growth of its housing construction should be brought under control so that we'll have a better hometown in future.
My hometown is henan luoyang, the Chinese have a phrase called "luoyang peony enjoys" peony is generally in 4 months open, every time when the time of luoyang peony will open, everywhere throughout the country and the world will be known and come to appreciate the beauty of flowers. Luoyang still has a lot of good, such as water mat is very distinctive luoyang royal dishes, and as the white horse temple, longmen grottoes in these historic places of historic interest.
My hometown is a beautiful place. The most attractions [attractive things] are the river in front of my house and the green hills opposite my house. On the hills there are dense pine woods. The river, in which there are all kinds of big and smooth cobbles (圆石块), flows gurgling (汩汩声) in four seasons, with groups of fish and shrimps playing in the water.
Spring coming, the fields look like a green carpet, and the willows (杨柳) by the river are putting forth a lot of tender branches. With breeze blowing, the long thin branches gently brush the cool and refreshing water; there groups of ducks are having fun.
Summer follows spring. The children sit on the large stones in the river, where they pat the water and make splashes (水溅声). The sound of water, and the noise of the children's chatting and laughing are mixed together. The birds in the woods are unwilling to be lonely, singing and dancing with joy.
Autumn is a bright and colourful season. The leaves of the trees on the hills are as red as fire like pieces of rosy clouds. The paddy fields (水稻田) glitter in the sunshine, with dropping ears of rice (稻穗). They ripple in the autumn wind just like a golden sea.
In winter, the pine trees on the hills stand like soldiers. They are evergreen. The children lead an active life though the weather is very cold; they skate and dance in the snow, and make snowmen as well. Laughter can be heard everywhere. Oh, how beautiful my hometown is! It is simply a beautiful picture for every season.
Wherever I am, I find it hard to resist the tempting call of my hometown. Situated at the north-western tip of Xin-zhu County, bordering Tao-yuan County with a small winding stream is my old hometown, the humble and bleak fishing and farming village. The residents there used to make their living by fishing in their boats on the nearest waters of the Taiwan Strait. Later, those boats were heavily outrun by modern ships. Since then, life has never been easy for the villagers, as they have to live off the tiny pieces of land. I often feel that they are peasants rather than farmers. The village is famed for its windy weather, bad for farming but good for the strengthening of character. I can still recall how those salty winds howled all the way through my childhood. But as I now look back upon those tough days and drab rural lives, I feel blessed; I seem to have gone through the ordeal and am capable of facing any hardships. As I am growing older, in my heart, my hometown has become the symbol of the deepest nostalgia and stood for an everlasting affection. I, in turn, can always seek solace through visualizing my lovely hometown.
